Ilam Park Fell Race
**Update 7/8/20 - race cancelled this year - hopefully we'll be back again in 2021**

This is a challenging Category A fell race in stunning White Peak countryside run under FRA (Fell Runners Association) rules; net event proceeds will go to local charities including the National Trust to help maintain the beautiful and extremely popular Dovedale area.

The start is a 5 minute walk from registration and the route initially climbs steeply onto Bunster Hill before descending into the Dovedale valley. The run then follows the picturesque River Dove for a short tarmac section before crossing the iconic Dovedale stepping stones followed by the steep and unrelenting climb to the summit of Flagpole Hill. After a short ridge run the route heads across Thorpe Pastures before ascending & descending the well known limestone hill Thorpe Cloud and then it’s back along the river and across the fields by the Izaak Walton Hotel to the finish at Ilam Hall.

The route will be clearly marked and marshalled.

From the summit of Thorpe Cloud, Dovedale appears, protected by the limestone crags of Bunster Hill in the Peak District National Park, Derbyshire
